‘Carolyn Hecker (second from right) and friends at MCA dinner honoring her’
A special thank you to those who contributed to the Carolyn Hecker 2008 Scholarship. This scholarship is given to a worthy Maine Crafts Association member to attend Haystack for the first time. Carolyn Hecker was the founder of the Maine Crafts Association 25 years ago and was recognized for her tireless contribution to Maine Craft at a special dinner in her honor at Haystack Mountain School for Crafts on May 17, 2008.

‘Malley Weber enjoying the sun at Haystack’
On a (mostly) bright and sunshiny May weekend 42 craft artists settled into Haystack Mountain School of Craft for the 25th annual Maine crafts Association Haystack Weekend Workshop. Artist instructors from all over the United States worked with eager and talented Maine Craft artists throughout the weekend and created some very beautiful and fun work. A great time was had by all, especially at the silent auction, which helped raise over $2000 for the education programs of the Maine Crafts Association. A special thank-you to all who contributed work to the auction. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
